Matt will offer an Anointing Mass.  The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick may be administered to Catholics who are in danger of death -through old age (around 75+), a serious medical condition, or preparing for a serious medical procedure including one that uses general anesthesia.  No pre-registration is necessary but those who receive the Sacrament at the Mass will need to give their name for record keeping.  Any questions may be directed to Fr. Matt (fathermatt@stgregorynb.org).
Veteran’s Day Breakfast:
As Veteran’s Day approaches on November 11, we would like to honor the veterans and military members of St. Gregory’s parish with a special event.  All parishioners who are veterans and their immediate families are invited to a breakfast on Saturday, November 8th and 9:30am in the parish hall to thank them for their service and sacrifice for our country.  Please RSVP with the number attending to Liz Long or the Parish Office by November 1st.  Anyone who is interested in helping with this event, please contact Liz (liz@stgregorynb.org).
Reclaiming Sundays:
As we give focus to “Reclaiming Sundays” in Year 3 of the Synod, our focus continues to be on prayer as a family.  Saying grace before a meal is a valuable way to connect with God and express gratitude for the food received.  The meal prayer can be recited as a family or even silently by oneself.  It can be a great witness to others of our faith when we are at a restaurant or eating in the midst of others.
Action for this month:  Pray before meals as a family.
Lord, Renew Your Church:
The “Lord, Renew Your Church” capital campaign is going well at St. Gregory’s.  Thank you to all who have greeted Father Matt or campaign volunteers with an open mind and open heart.  If you haven’t been contacted yet, you will likely receive a phone call after October 6th.   If you would like to speak with Father or a volunteer sooner, please reach out to the parish office.  We are nearing our goal with this campaign to support needed improvements, expand ministry efforts, and strengthen the mission of the Church in our communities.
Formed.org Catholic Resource – Video of the Week:
St. Jerome | Catholic Saints:  An early Church Father from the 4th century, St. Jerome translated the Bible into Latin with the desire to make Scripture more accessible. St. Jerome is the patron of biblical scholars, translators, and archivists and famously said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”  https://app.formed.org/app/videos/2399232/
